There was something exceptional about turning the space under the stairs into a display area for your wine bottles. In this project, the glass-enclosed wine cellars were the perfect fit to be installed in this limited area. The team successfully built a modern wine cellar with glass-enclosed doors.
You can readily see horizontal wine racking through the wall outside the wine cellar. The wine cellar has ¾ inch-tempered, frameless glass panels for its doors. The flooring was made from reclaimed wine barrels to add grandeur to the wine cellar.
Lastly, a WhisperKOOL wall-mount refrigeration system was installed. It was the perfect unit to regulate the temperature inside a wine cellar of this size.
Our designers used a single-pane frameless glass for this glass wine room installation. They built the glass panels using a U-channel. Moreover, they placed insulation materials in the U-channel to help insulate the wine cellar.

The diamond bins on the bottom complement the wooden flooring made from repurposed wine barrels. The wine racking system designed by our experts emphasized the importance of storage and ideal conditions for the wines. These diamond bins can hold up to 9 magnums, 12 champagnes, or 16 regular-sized wines—a perfect spot to age your wine before being transferred to the upper racks.
The alder wood was used to build these wooden wine racks for their lightweight appearance and durability. The unique and refined-grained patterns make the wine racks more attractive, as shown on a glass wall.
LED lighting was installed to highlight the beautiful wine bottles and the reveal row. It was an excellent choice for most refrigerated wine cellars, adding light and emphasis to your collection. The good thing was that it did not harm the wine quality from the heat it emitted. You can see the label for each bottle for easy access to your choice.
Cool Your Glass-Enclosed Wine Cellars Using the Right Cooling Unit

One challenge of installing the cooling system was their limited workspace under the stairways. Our team collaborated with WhisperKOOL to create a customized cooling system that could fit within the custom-built wine room.
The contemporary wine room was centrally located in the house. It is not exposed to direct sunlight. So, using a ¾ inch tempered, frameless glass for its doors won’t cause any problems for this wine cellar. We placed gaskets on the glass door to make sure that there would be no leaks in the wine room.
Picking what cooling system would work best in your wine cellar depends on the project specifications. For this wine cellar, our team installed a WhisperKOOL Platinum Split System 4000. It is a split-type cooling unit. This made the evaporator and condensing unit separate from each other. Overall, the cooling system installed for the wine is both practical and efficient. You can only see the evaporator in the wine cellar, not the condenser or ducting.
The system aids in improving the home wine cellar’s insulation capacity. The team decided to place the cooling unit inside the ceiling to keep it hidden and for aesthetic reasons. Nobody would want a basement where coils and wires were hanging everywhere.
